Hi,
I recently installed a bad driver for my Linksys Wireless
USB Adapter. When I uninstall it in the device manager,
then unplug it and plug it back in, it knows what it is
from last time so it says Found New Hardware, Linksys
Wireless USB Adapter 2.6. I used Roll Back Driver that
works, but the reason I updated it was cause I had
trouble with the first one. Is there a way to make
XP not automatically recognize my Wireless USB Adapter so
it would reinstall the driver and not just give me the
previous one that doesn't work?

Thanks

Hi bob

I was wondering whether the bad driver was installed by windows update?
I have the same wireless adapter and there was a driver update available
from the windows update site. When I installed it I was no longer able to
access the "wireless networking" tab in the properties for this connection
(It was missing) and could no longer get it to work.
I completely uninstalled the driver, removed the hardware and then plugged
it back in, I told it to use the old driver and it worked OK since. (That
update is now showing again as available at the windows update site but I'll
leave it well alone!!!)
