Hello DGREDFERN,
What the guys are talking about is, when you type all caps, it is screaming on the internet.
About your delima...
Go to the Device Manager
To get there type Start > Help > Device Manager
click on "overview"
That tells you how to get there
When there click on the plus
Write subdirectory information down
d/c the Display Device
choose Driver Details and write it all down or print it. To print, you need to know how to
print a "print screen" file.

You can uninstall
Shut down and bootup
To see if the Plug and Pray will find it.
If you have trouble with that you will need to have garnered the proper drivers for the
display. The make, model, and type should be with your paperwork that came with your
computer. having that, you can go back where we were in Device manager to the Display adaptors
to choose update drivers and go through the wizard and install the particular Video drivers
necessary for your monitor to work properly.
Wish it was simpler, but that's about as simple as you can get it.
good luck,
don
