hi

i've recently had a new motherboard installed (after months of problems with
my old one), and have since had problems installing the drivers for both my
webcam and scanner. every time i try to install either, i get repeated
messages about a Device Removal Module error ('send error report' or 'don't
send'), and the installation just freezes and i have to close it. i didn't
have this problem with my old motherboard, is there a way to fix it?

thanks

Was the motherboard an exact model swap ? - If not, did the shop
who did the work do a "Repair" install ? If not then your system is
probably not configured correctly (System level drivers).

no, it was installed by a friend, but there was no xp reinstall. if i do an
XP repair install, should that fix it?

It would depend on how the original/replacement motherboards are
different. If it was the same vendor/model MB then a repair install
isn't likely to help. If the motherboards are different then a Repair
install may help - just be sure your personal data is backed up to a
non-magnetic media (CD/DVD-R disks).
