I recently upgraded my mobo, re-installed XP (Fresh). And
began installing the drivers. After I install several
drivers, I can no longer install any for any device. I
recieve the error msg "System cannot find the file
specified" when attempting to add new hardware. I've tried
emptying the installshield folder but this did nothing.
Any idea's?

What is it that you are trying to install the drivers of? Some drivers
are installed through an executable. Some of them can be installed the
way you have mentioned. I highly recommend using Everest Home from
www.lavalys.com which will tell you all about your hardware and where to
download the proper drivers.

I've begun isolating the problem. From searching the web I
have discovered that the setup in common with this problem
is AMD + NForce + 9800 pro. Currently contacting NVidia,
ATi, and flashing the bios. I'll get back with any update
to my problem.

This was happening for all my drivers. Now it only seems
to happen for my netgear wireless network card. Netgear
has no idea what to do. It rreally makes me wonder why
they call it tech support..

What network card is it? If it is a PCI Wireless Network card, try this:

Uninstall the Wireless Network Card softare/drivers from Add/Remove
Programs in the Control Panel.

Open Device Manager, find it, right click on it, and uninstall it.

Open Regedit and navigate to this:

HKLM-System-CCS-Enum-PCI

Now delete whatever Ven_Xxxx folder that contains the information about
your Wireless PCI Card.

Now Reboot and try installing the software again ;)

Thanks for the hand, but I just re-installed xp
Seems fine now.
Which brings me to a problem on my friends computer that
I'm just about to post...
