Drive Shortcuts no longer function in toolbars

Hi all. i hope someone can answer my question for me.

For years I have used shortcuts to all of my drives on
the desktop. Since the old desktop update back in 1995, I
have placed all of these shortcuts in a toolbar.

It has worked neatly for years. Now, due to an unknown
update, these shortcuts appearing in toolbars do not
function. I get the "missing shortcut" dialog.

Can anyone tell me what update caused this, and how I can
reverse it.

Thanks anyway. I worked around the problem.

I have 19 local and network drives accessible from my
desktop... I had to manually create a shortcut for each
one. The ones that the system generates for you via
"create shortcut" or
"would you like to create a shortcut instead?"...

Will not work. I suspect that this shortcut function was
broken by one of the many updates I accepted yesterday.
