Help! I am not able to locate any drives except C: in Vista. I am trying
to run a setup.exe from a cd, but Vista says that the driver for my cd/dvd
drive is not installed properly, yet wont let me reinstall it either.

This is apparently a huge problem, as I have read over 400 accounts of other
users with exactly this same problem. Some have tried editing the registry,
and it works for a while, then reverts back to the same issue.

Hi md,

I just ran into this problem installing a computer for a customer. I found
out that I had the drivers for xp but not vista included. I did the update
online feature and it resolved the issue for me. The other thing I can
suggest is to check the drives jumpers are either set for cable select or
master and slave respectfully. XP would correct automatically but vista
requires them to be accurate. The drives ussually ship with the slave mode
set.
