Drive Letters

We have an XPe build which is installed onto a machine with
separate partitions for the boot loader and operating
systems. The intention is to have the first partition (the
boot partition) assigned drive letter "C:" and the second
partition (os) assigned drive letter "D:".

The image was configured in Target designer so that the Windows,
Documents and Settings, and Program Files folders are all
located in "D:". The boot files are copied into the first
partition, and the rest of the image files are copied into the
second partition. The first partition is marked as active.

The Kernel seems to boot ok, and the First Boot Agent reports
that it is starting, but then the system reboots before FBA
has completed successfully. The system reboots, and First
Boot Agent starts up again. This happens repeatedly.

I have tried copying the boot loader files into the second
partition, and marking the second partition active (I believe
there is a known problem with the FBA where the operating
system files need to be in the boot partition during the
first boot process) but this does not help.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Tom.

Tom,
In TD if you incorrectly specify the size of the Boot Partition size, then
your image will continually reboot. Also, if you are using ewf you may see
the same rebooting symptoms.
