How do you edit or change a drive label in "My Computer" under "Devices with
Removable Storage", without changing the drive letter?

Right-click > Properties > Type a new name at the top > ok

You'd probably need to give more details of the type of device - you can't
change the label on a cd or dvd, by that method, if that is what you are
trying to do.

That is exactly what I am trying to do. It is a DVD drive and in the
properties the label box cannot be highlighted.

The only labeling you can do during file burning, is the "Label"
identification of the actual DVD or CD. Thanks anyway.

And that label is what XP reports to you in My Computer and elsewhere.. You
can change the label on RW devices. I would be surprised to learn that you
can change the label on anything else.

Hi Kelly,

I am sure you understand me, but please appreciate my hesitance to run a
file that will alter my registry.All I want to do is;
change "Card Reader (F:)" to "DVD-RW Drive (F:) under listed under "Devices
with Removable Storage" in "My Computer".

Thanks,
Don.
