It's possible. Bring the feed it, and convert it to a MPG on the fly,
but keeping a 15 MB file, with a small 5 MB buffer (or so). Wouldn't be
exactly live, as you'd have the encoding process and file transfer time.

It'd be cool to see if it could be done. :)
 
are there any plans to make dreamscene capable of playing video from a live
stream, a webcam for example?

It would be an awesome feature to have, especially if it could stream from a
webcam or similar. Stick the camera out the window and watch the world go
by on your desktop.

But a whole lot of things could go wrong with it which is why I don't think
its on the to-do list. It's better to spend the budget on making local
video work great, which most people will use work then trying to overload it
with features which borderline work.
