Dragging MPG files to the Timeline

When I try to drag .mpg files to the timeline, which have been recorded from TV on my ATI video card, WMM will only allow me to drag them to the Audio/Music area, and not video. This is clearly a video file! Other video file formats will go to the video section, just not .mpg. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Charles,

Playback/importing of MPEG2 content is completely dependent on the third
party MPEG2 decoder installed on your computer. Most do not work well. See
the Importing Source Files > Video > MPEG2 page of www.papajohn.org
