downloading

When I download something sometimes a progress bar pops up and something
is written to disk. There is a string of characters like qezgdy or something
like that stored as a folder. WHat's going on.

That usually happens when you're saving to a network share or "opening the
download" instead of saving it directly to disk. IE is caching the
download so it has something to work from to open or copy to it's final
destination.

Hi Bill,

With all due respect, *always* save your downloads to disc, so you can scan
them with your A/V program prior to opening/installing the download. *Only*
click "open" when you d/l if you're absolutely sure of the files safety and
author.
