downloading

For some reason no matter what I download it doesn't install itself onto the
computer. The dialog box comes up and goes all the way too 100% and it
disappears and nothing comes up. why?

Normally when you download something, it doesn't "install itself". You
need to find the file you downloaded and double-click it (or extract it
if it's in a .zip).

The second part of the equation is the download location. Try
downloading to your Desktop where you will find the file.
