computer... Why? And how can I find it?? I did a computer search... nothing.
Thanks, Dina

What I do is to start the downloading process again, and this time I pay
attention to the pop-up dialog that asks me 'Where do you want to put
this file?' I look at the default place in that dialog and I go look
there. Happens all the time to us seniors ;o)

thanks but i know where and what is the default directory, the thing is is
that i checked and it's not there...

Did you use a download manager? I once did, and the files downloaded and
then disappeared.
Vista said something about using a "virtual storage" or something. I can't
remember, it was on
RC1.

nope. didn't use a download mnager. do you kbow who i can ask about this
virtual memory? i don't feel like downloading everything again

I think the files are not on your computer any longer.
In my case, I tried downloading them again, and noticed that they
were on the computer for a few seconds, and then were
apparently deleted by Vista. I don't know why, I just assumed
that Vista thought they were evil for some reason.
Downloading them without the download manager worked.
Oh, and the download manager was not mine, it was a feature
of the site I was getting the files from. There was a checkbox
to select whether to use it or not.
Sorry I can't help more.

Check your Downloads directory: C:\Users\Username\Downlaods

When I download stuff by default in IE 7 on Vista it automatically places
the files in that directory unless you changed the path the last time you
downloaded something. If you are using FireFox, its usually the Desktop.
Still can't find it, check the root of the drive or the temport directory.
check c:\Windows\temp

I had the same problem as this and I tried all suggestions I could find in
other threads.

Finally I solved it. I did a SYSTEM RESTORE to a time when I knew it was
working okay. Then it worked fine!! It must've been a vista update that was
causing the problem somewhere.

Good luck!
