Downloading SP2

Just a little frustration showing thru here.

I use as a default browser, Mozilla Firefox, for security reasons.

Tried to download the IT version of XP SP2 and even on a cable modem
it took 30+ minutes. Everything went well until the last 64k and then
the download stalled. Tried again, with same results.

Hmm, tried downloading with IE6 and the download went with out a
hitch.

What's with MS and their F%%%ing attitude about using programs other
than theirs. What a piece of Sh%t.

Later

PS The only reason I use XP Pro is due to my work situation, which is
a computer solutions organization for individual and small businesses.
Normal OS is Linux (SUSE and Fedora).

Why are you so sure that the problem isn't with Mozilla?
Did you try Netscape? Close, but not the same browser.

At that point SP-2 is just another bunch of data being downloaded.
There is nothing to distinguish SP-2 other than the name and size.
The cause is elsewhere.
Did you try with Firefox after successfully using IE6.

I know of several that use Firefox successfully so the cause is
clearly on your end.

I've downloaded it and many other files from Microsoft before now using
Firefox. Perhaps the problem and the f%%%ing attitude are somewhere else,
like between your keyboard and your chair?

Good question......This is not the only time I have had trouble
downloading from a MS site with Firefox, Firebird, Mozilla, or
Netscape. All other downloads from any other resource or web site has
gone without a hitch. It makes one wonder?

I am now ending this thread.

Please see my answer to Charlie on this same thread. Also, not to be
a D%%k, but it's hard to follow a thread when one top posts.

If you think it is hard to follow, don't read top posted answers.
If it is hard for you, it is hard because you choose to make it hard.
There are large numbers of people in these newsgroups that post top
and others bottom post.

When you ask for free support, insulting those answering the question
is really poor taste.
Just because you do not like the answer does not make the answer
wrong.

You have apparently already described yourself as accurately as you
can.
Since you seem picky about the suggestions you receive, perhaps
something here will be better:
http://support.microsoft.com/
Some of those options are not free.
Since you will most likely pay for the same answer, you are then in a
better position to criticize the results.

Because of your attitude, do not be surprised if you are not answered
so quickly if you return.
Many people put a lot of time to help people such as yourself and most
do not care for such an ungrateful attitude as you have shown.
Fortunately people such as yourself are rare in these newsgroups.

Not to be a D%%k??? I think you may be one.

Top posting is the default way to post, and further more, I get a blister on
my middle finger scrolling down to the bottom only to see a single line of
often useless crap.

Jax, I agree with you.

I liked this line of the OP's post "PS The only reason I use XP Pro is due to my work situation, which is
a computer solutions organization for individual and small businesses. Normal OS is Linux (SUSE and Fedora)."

I wonder what the "solution" is for the problem. Maybe use IE to download SP2. It's like 'if you want to check a book out of my library you use the library card I gave you'.
