This is your best bet. Go to Windows Update on your friends PC and look at
the log. Print out all pages since SP2 (except ones that relate to Defender
or Office). When you have all of those you will need to keep a note of all
the KB numbers. Go to the Windows Update Marketplace or something like that
(see under help). Now search for the updates!

You can download them from the Catalog and save to be installed later.
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog/en/default.asp

Click Add button for each update you want to download. Once you have what you
want, Click the "Go To Download Basket" link. Type in or browse to the location
where you want the updates saved to and then Click the "Download Now" button.
Once downloaded, you can then burn them to CD.

For security and other patches released for a given month :
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms##-***.mspx
Replace ## with the two-digit year
Replace *** with the three character month abbreviation

Providing there are releases for that month, you will see the list of "critical"
"important" patches for that month
Check on the 2nd Tuesday of each month - later in the day.

According to me there has no official service pack released after service
pack 2. Only the KB has been released. However, the following link has one
package of all KBs. Try it!

Bad advice. It is poor practice, and inherently dangerous, to download
Microsoft updates from any site other than Microsoft's.

Dear All,

Is it possible to download all available windows updates
after installing service pack 2 from a location
without going to windows update website?

I have a friend that has original WinXP w/SP2 but
he is on dial-up. After formatting his PC,
setting up WinXP w/SP2 and
going to windows update website all available updates
will require hours of download with dial-up.
I'm on high speed DSL. If possible i will download
all available updates burn them to a CD and give them
to him.

So please inform me of a location where i may go
and download all available windows updates.

Thanking you in advance,
Carlos.

There you go, all the updates on one page. And the links all go to
Microsoft's download server to get them.

critical updates from one computer by burning to cd but cannot fine the
updates except in add remove programmes.
Any assistance provided will be appreciated.
