Microsoft 2002 what? I suspect you mean MS Office 2002. And by download
you mean install? Yes Office 2002 will run on Vista. If it is a retail
version then yes, remove it from the compute on which it's installed an
install it on the Vista computer. If it's an OEM version it's tied to the
computer on which it came and can't, by it's license, be moved to another
computer. The Student and Teacher version of Office has a more liberal
installation policy.
 
Office 2002 is better known as Office XP.

And Windows XP says it is Windows 2002 on my My Computer / Properties
screen <g>

I think he wants to install XP on a VISTA machine but whether to get
rid of VISTA or dual boot I don't recollect.

If he has a laptop it's likely to be tedious or impossible.
