Downloading and opening document

i have downloaded some info to my documents folder , today, and i cant open
either of the documents...my old documents have and will open..what do you
suggest that i do to open so i can print them

From where did you download the information? What file formats are in
the information in; i.e., MS Word documents, etc. What happens when you
try to open the files? If you get any error messages, what do they say?
