The IE6 file(s) on my home computer seem to be corrupted,
and I need to re-install it. I cannot get to the internet
to do this. In the past, you could just download the IE
upgrade and click on it to install. However, now you
download a file that selectively downloads the components
you need for your installation. Normally, that's great.
But for me, I need to download an executable. Does anyone
know how I can do this short of order a CD-ROM?

Thanks.

I think Microsoft really isn't aimed at supporting users on dialup
anymore. I think they quit supporting independent downloads of MSIE
several versions ago, and now you have to pay for a CD -- to me this
sounds archaic in this Internet age, where I am accustomed to
downloading software over someone's high speed connection, burning it
to CD, and walking it over to all the houses still on dialup.

I read a rumor that Microsoft invested heavily in cable companies, and
maybe that is part of why they don't support dialup users much anymore
?
