Downloaded programe updates

I had a prompt to say programe up dates available for photo album. I clicked
install. A window appeared Downloaded Programmes, in which there are two
folders with the updates. Are these updates installed on the programmes, and
can I delete these folders. Or do I have to do something with these folders
and files?
