You cannot legally download Word 2002 from the internet or from Microsoft.
You have to purchase the Word 2002 or Office XP CD and install Word from
that. Word is not automatically included with every computer. If you just
need a basic word processing application, use Wordpad (which is included with
Windows, so it should already be on your hard drive).

As g-n-o has explained, you will have to purchase Word. The current version
is Word 2003, part of Office 2003, but if you want (or will be satisfied
with) Word 2002, the very most reasonable way to get it is as part of Works
Suite 2005 (see
http://www.microsoft.com/products/works/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=001). This
is currently offered at amazon.com for $89 (with free shipping), and there
is a $20 mail-in rebate from Microsoft good through January 1, 2006,
bringing the effect price down to $69 for Word, Works, Encarta, Money,
PictureIt!, and Streets & Trips.
