hi, i'm trying to work out why my downloads are so slow. By looking at
windows task manager I can see that the network utilization for my dial-up
connection is quite high when using a browser (explorer) with 50 - 100% used.
But when downloading most things I only achieve approx. 6 Kb/s at the most!
(I have a 56kbs connection). If I have, say, 6 downloads occuring at once
they will all be approx. 1 kb/s each! But when browsing it indicates that I
am using the full 56kb/s. It shows this in task manager. I can't work out why
this is. The only exception I know of is Valve's Steam network which tends to
use the full spectrum of my connectivity. Is there any way to increase my
download speeds?
