I like to download aircraft pics from different sites. In the past I could
SaveAs a JPG file and it would save as a JPG. Now, when I do a SaveAs, my
only option is BITMAP. How do I change to SaveAs back to JPG when the files
is JPG?

Open Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu, click Internet Options, on the General tab
under the heading Temporary Internet Files click the Delete button. A small Delete Files
dialog box will open, click to add a checkmark in the box to the left of Delete all
offline content, then click the OK button at the bottom of that small dialog box. You'll
have hard drive movement as the Temporary Internet Files are deleted. When the drive
action stops and the cursor is no longer an hour glass, close the remaining Internet
Options window, close Internet Explorer, then reboot your system. You'll again have the
option to save JPG image files. It's a bug that occurs when the Temporary Internet File
cache is full, that Internet Explorer will only save image files in the BMP format.
Periodically emptying the Temporary Internet Files cache as described above will avoid the
problem, and also give you back some hard drive space.

Hi, WWV.

As t.cruise says, first empty your TIF cache.

Then you might want to set IE to empty the cache each time you exit the
browser. Click Tools | Internet Options..., then the Advanced tab. Scroll
way down to the Security heading and check the box that starts "Empty
Temporary ..." Especially if you have broadband, IE can download the page
again about as quickly as it can find it in the cache on your hard drive.

You can also change the amount of disk space the cache is allowed to use.
See the Settings button on the General tab that t.cruise mentioned.

Hey, is the San Marcos River still as clean as it used to be?

Does Tom Goynes still have a campground at Pecan Park?

Do the Spencers still run the Canoe Livery at Shady Grove in Martindale?

I know, what does this have to do with Windows XP?

Yep. Well, nearly.

I'm not sure. I'm not a canoer, myself, but I see stories in the San Marcos
Daily Record. (www.sanmarcosrecord.com)
I know, what does this have to do with Windows XP?

Very little. ;^}

This happens if the indexes of the Temporary Internet Files get
overloaded. In Control Panel - Internet Options, in the temporary
Internet files section on the General page, click 'Delete files'. Then
I suggest click Settings and reduce the space allowed - 50 MB is
probably generous, and on big drives it tends to choose by default a
setting that is so high that this overload happens
