download problem

I tried downloading the free version of PopUp Stopper by
Panicware and the exe file does not open. I get a blank
page with a little box in the upper lefthand corner, but
the page does not open. Maybe I have a setting somewhere
that is blocking it. It also happened after I purchased
an internet download(Indeo XP Codec Package) and the same
thing happened. Please help.

Did you download those files via a 'download manager' - Getright or some thing similar? It is possible that the file was corrupted during the download. Another source of corrupted downloaded files is having a real time AV program running.

Clean your your temp and cache files. Remove any download managers and
all the spyware you got on your PC. Reboot. Then download the file
again.
