Download Problem

I have tried to download files from the internet and seem unable to do so on
a laptop using Windows XP Home, I have tried from two different internet
connections, 1 from a wireless connection at Uni and 1 from a dial up modem
connection from home. Any help would be excellent, Thanks

What happens when you try? Any error messages? What Service Pack level?
What browser?
