Using Outlook 2003 retrieving POP mail and connected to the Internet with
ADSL. I face a problem when downloading mail from my main mailbox. Quite
often there are a large number of e-mails in the box perhaps as many as 100
for 200 and the downloading of the e-mail fails after about 10% of the
e-mails have downloaded. The first 10% downloads quickly and then I get the
following error message
Task 'mailsvr.myisp.com - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The
connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues,
contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The
server responded: +OK 1406 octets follow.'
When I tried to download the e-mails again, the same e-mails download as
downloaded before and it fails again. I use a small utility called Magic
which enables me to login to the server and delete all the e-mails manually
but the same problem occurs again when I go back to checking my e-mail the
next day using outlook.
I have contacted my ISP but they say that there is nothing wrong their end.
All other aspects of Internet connectivity work just fine. I am using
Norton antivirus 2004 if this has any bearing on the matter.
