Hello all. I'm trying to download my financial info from my bank into
Quicken. However, instead of opening the Open/Save window, IE displays the
info, so I can't download and save it. The bank site says"When you click on
'Download', your browser may display the information directly on the browser
instead of prompting you to Save/Open the file. This means that your browser
is not setup to understand the 'File/MIME Type' of the file you are trying
to download. To resolve this issue, follow the steps provided by your
operating system vendor."
Anyone know how I can set the system up to download, rather than display,
this info?
Thanks!

You need to know what the relevant 'MIME type' is. Then you can use
regedit to make one for it; run regedit.exe. open to
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type

Look, as an example, at the entry for audio/x-mpg
which is as simple as possible - just defines an extension to use in
saving - and use Edit - New - Key to make a key under Content Type for
the Mime type needed, and in that Edit - New - String value to make
Extension. Then double click that to enter the extension

Thanks, Alex.
I entered it as a Text key. Maybe I should have made it an application
(Quicken)?
