download.com is generally safe.

Download.com is safe. They do have some programs for download that are "ad
supported". This means they may contain spyware. Research the program you
are downloading before using it. For instance you could download kazaa
there. If you run kazaa you will be infected with many spyware programs.
This is the fault of kazaa not download.com.

They are reputable, I've never had problems with them- but it is *always*
sensible to scan the files before using them.
