Download a file.

Sorry I am quite a new user of Front Page 2003 I wish to
be able to create a button that when you click on it you
download the information Insaead of creating a hyperlink
I need to have the PDF File downloaded. Can anyone
help ??? Thanks Ian
 
Hi Ian,

If you wish to have the PDF download instead of opened in the browser you'll
need to put it in a zip file.

To use a button create a form and use the submit button. The method of the
form should be GET and the Action should be to the zipped PDF file.

Try to insert a file rather then a hyperlink. That should get the pdf
published along with the rest of your web updates and then the user will be
promted to Open or Save. Hope that helps

Just add the PDF file to your Web site (for example, drag
it from Windows Explorer to the FrontPage Folder List)
and then hyperlink to it as if the PDF file were a Web
page.

By default, the browser will open and display the PDF
file in the browser window. If you want visitors to save
the file more permanently on their computer, add some
instructions near the hyperlink telling them to right-
click the link and choose Save Target As.
