How do I recover outlook.pst files generated with Outlook 2003 in an Outlook
2002 version installed on a different computer? Thanks.

You must first create an Outlook Data File in "Outlook 97-2002" format while
you are still using Outlook 2003, then copy your data into that file.

Thank you.
Your answer gets me on the way ...,
... the next question now is: how do I create an "Outlook 97-2002" file and
copy the data (Contacts, calendar & email) to that file while I am still in
using Outlook 2003, and can export it ?

File > New > Outlook Data File...
Do not export. Ever.
Just copy the data you need from your current Personal Folders into the new
one you create.
Close Outlook.
Copy the New PST file and open it with Outlook 2002.
