Hi,

I've been experiencing the following issue since a few
weeks back.

When I click log off, the pc starts the log off process,
(I can tell because the Drag-to-disc application from
Roxio is turned off), it closes a couple more programs
and then it stops. I can keep working as normal, with
any side effects. Then, I need to click in the PC a
second time for it to finally close windows and take me
to the Welcome Screen.

Fast User Switching isn't working either. When using it,
it does the first part of the operation (takes me to the
welcome screen), but when trying to access another
account, it just keeps bringing me bak to the welcome
screen)

Also, this problems affects the turn off feature, I have
to repeat the process as when logging off.

Any ideas? This is weird, never happened before.

If I don't talk to you again, have a Merry Christmas and
very Happy New Year!

We want to implement the Cleanboot process using MSCONFIG to rule out 3rd
party software as the cause of this issue. MSCONFIG from XP can also be used
on a Windows 2000 Pro or Server client.

Go to Start\Run type in Msconfig and press OK.
Go to the Startup tab.
Click on "Disable All"
Go to the Services Tab
Click on "Hide all Microsoft Services"
Uncheck the 3rd party services that are left
Press OK twice to reboot.

Once your computer is restarted see if the issue still occurs. if it still
does go to Msconfig and select Enable All on the startup tab.
If the issue does not occur go to the Startup tab and select items 4 at a
time or so with reboots in between to narrow down the exact item causing
your problem.
