double dashes in Outlook

Hi,

I can't have "--" in any of my email messages. For some reason, whenever I
have two dashes together, Outllook automatically removes one of them. I added
"--" to the Outlook dictionary but that doesn't help. Also, Outlook doesn't
underline the offending dashes in red -- it simply removes one of them. Any
idea how I can change whatever so it allows me to do this? I'm using Outlook
2003.

Thanks!

You must be using Word as editor with autoformat enabled. Change to OL's
editor or disable autocorrect. Auto format will change a hyphen -- to a dash.
You can change that in Word, Auto format, options by unchecking it.

Hi Mary,

Thanks so much for the post. Not to display my ignorance, but how can I
change the editor in Word? Also, I found the AutoCorrect section in Outlook
-- I set a "replace text as you type" -- I added "--" to "Replace:" and "--"
to "With:" but that didn't work.

Thanks!

mm
