double click folder option

When I double click on a folder in My Documents, I get the the "Search"
screen when I really want to "Open" the folder. If I right click, I get a
dialog box with "Search" at the top, followed by "Open" and then "Close"
etc. How can I remove or at least relocate the "Search" from the dialog box.
This is a new event for me.
