When I loaded xp home on my new laptop, I made a mistake
and changed the administrator account name to mine during
the inital setup.

When I log off the only user account I have is my own - no
administrator account. When I go to Aministrative
Tools>Computer Management I dont have access to the "Local
Users and Groups" folder - the folder isn't even there.

I can't find anyway to add a new user or change
permissions on a folder

Its not that I don't have the password for the account - I
don't have the account.

Any way to bring the administrator account back without
having to reload the O/S with the restore disk?

Thanks in advance.

Bill

XP Home does not include the LUSRMGR.MSC snap in for Local Users and Groups. And by default, when you create additional accounts in XP, the Administrator account is automatically hidden on the Welcome Screen. Additionally, the only way to access the built in Administrator account, at this point, is via Safe Mode.
