One of my secretarial users yesterday asked:
"When I open a Word attachment from my e-mail, the computer will often
ask me if I want to merge the new document with an old document. How do
I make it stop asking this????"

I assume by this question, that means she has 1 MS Word document already
open when she tries to open the 2nd document. Using Word 2002 (from
Office XP).

Is this possible?

This message indicates that the document originate on this computer: it
recognises the document has been emailed back and is different and is asking
if you want to merge those changes with the original version on the computer
(or local server). It also happens if the user has created a new document by
opening an old document and renaming it instead of using a template.
