Is it possible to set up two domains on the same server?
I am using win2000 server and i need some users to log in
to their computers and some do not have to. I understand
logging into computers is done on the domain level, hence
the need for two domains on the same computer. Is this
possible? Thanks: Bill

No you can not have 2 domain on the same server.

Not totally sure what you mean by "I need some users to log into their
computers and some do not have to."

Logging into the computer is done by "logging into the computer". Users
logging into a computer on a domain *can* log into the domain or the local
computer if you give them a local account. Most common it the user only has
a domain account.
A computer not on a domain will only have local accounts.

When you say that "i need some users to log in to their computers and some
do not have to" what do you mean? If they don't have to log on to their
computers then what is your question about.
If however you meant they do not have to log on to the "Domain", then do not
create domain acounts for them, create local accounts only on 'their"
personal computer.
Yes, Logging on to the Domain and gaining access to Domain Resources is
handled by the Domain Server. But one can still log onto a computer with out
accessing the Domain. BUT! they will only have access to the local computer.
If this is what you want, Not a Problem.

all the computers log onto the domain that is on the
server with a password and ID,however they do not have to
log into their computers. Some will now have to do so. They
will log into their computers (workstations) then log onto
the domain.

Why do they have to log into their local computer? What do they have to do
that logging into the domain prevents?
