Hi all,

In my domain, when user logon as normal domain user to a win XP pc, and if
try to open my computer, it takes long time to open. Sometimes PC gets stuck.
All PCs have same issue. When the user is added to local admin group it
doesn’t give any problem. I know this couldn't be a virus issue.

Why is that?

And i don't want to give them admin rights. Is there any way to get around
that?

Thanks,

Sampath.

Sampathn,

Share permissions would be something to look into?

Are you mapping certain drives at logon? If so, does 'everyone' have permission to see the
share & what security do you have on those shares?

Actually No. I haven't mapped any drives at logon. Even local drives can't
access. And any GPO hasn't been changed. All local policies and GPOs are in
default. I tried this on testing environment. And got same result.

Thanks,
Sampathn

Perhaps, "Folder Options", "View", UNcheck "Automatically search for
network folders and printers".
