I have XP Home Edition and want to connect to my company network. I use a 3rd-party VPN client to connect (Nortel) to my company network. However, I can't figure out how to configure my PC to join the domain. Under My Computer>Properties I have a computer name and my company's domain that my PC should be a member of but I never get prompted to enter my Username and password. Thanks.

The problem is Windows XP Home Edition is not designed to
join a domain. You'll need to upgrade to Windows XP Professional
in order to have the advanced networking capabilities to join a domain.

Greetings --

WinXP Home is not designed to, nor can it truly be made to, join a
domain.

Although Home cannot join a domain it may be used to access
most types of domain resources.
It sounds to me like you may be confusing having your machine
in the domain, and having your VPN client configured to log you
into the domain when calling for a VPN connection.
The exact settings that you need depend on how the VPN server
is set, so you will need to ask the company people running the
VPN server.
When you set the workgroup to be the same string as the name
of a domain, you sometimes will be able to get more transparent
access in the browser listing to shared resources of the domain.
You sometimes will not, and may even get worse due to being
detected as an alien impersonating machine. Ask for guidance
from those running your company network.
