does xp store drivers centrally

Hi

I hav xp clients on my 2003 network. is there a place on a xp computer where
all the drivers is stored that you installed previously - so before you
format the pc you can just backup the folder and install all the .exe files
when you have reloaded windows. This will save me a lot of time......

you could save the drivers WINDOWS\system32\drivers but they won't do
you any good without the registry entries.

Why not use driver backup programs such as Driver Genius or Windriver Ghost
( enterprise version exists) ?
It saves the drivers and inf data in backup folders and more ( see here :
http://www.driver-soft.com/
or here : http://www.hotlib.com/products1.php?t=WinDriver_Ghost ).
Never tried them so give a test-run before relying on them but on the paper
they seem to fulfill your request

Look into Acronis' True Image with Universal Restore. You obviously want
the enterprise versions.
