My Outlook's latest version is 2003 with SP1, and recently there is always a
pop window sometime in Outlook, the message's content is "A program is trying
to access e-mail addresses you have stored in Outlook. Do you want to allow
this?
If this is unexpected, it maybe a virus and you should choose 'No'. ".

It's boring of the pop window, and I worry about the security of my system
even more. Can anyone give me the background reasons and the solution as well.

Thanks in advance.

Possibly. I'd do a full scan with the latest updated antivirus signature.
You can also do scans online.
The dialogue comes up when a 3rd party application tries to access Outlook
email addresses. Viruses sometimes do so to harvest addresses and send
emails to replicate themselves.
