Does SFC repair memory corruption errors?

Sam

I just installed a new motherboard and I started developing frequent
errors in virtually all programs... Dr. Watson has been working
overtime. I suspected my RAM and I think I was right, I ran some
tests and one stick had failed a burn-in test.

Before I start reloading more programs, does SFC repair memory
corruption errors or do I have to format and reinstall Windows again?

SFC just checks the crucial windows files are all in order.

It can't fix your memory chips. Sorry!
Double check your memory chips are clean and seated properly. Run the memory
test again. If it fails - change the faulty memory

After you installed the new mobo you either clean or repair installed win?
You installed the mobo chipset and other drivers from mobo cd/site?

If you get memory errors they do not usually impact on win files, though
they can cause files written (data) to be corrupted

Yes, it was a clean install but I had other data on the partition. So,
the partition was not bare when I installed XP

They were not "memory" errors but other errors where data is corrupted
and Dr. Watson frequently popped up.

Sounds like I need to kill my XP and start again?

I got rid of the problematic (one stick of RAM), so no problem there
anymore.

Just need to know if SFC fixes the corrupted files.
