Does pp to dvd really work???

One last time....

I've been researching this for a while and I really can
not tell from posts or reading articles whether or not
converting a PP presentation to DVD is a viable option.

I read that much is lost in any tranlation to DVD. I then
read posts that says it can be done.

I want to produce a first class DVD out of my PP
presentation that includes sound files and lots of
transitions. I do not want to invest in a bunch of
software as recommended on various web sites if, in fact,
the end result is going to be a DVD that does not
represent the PP Presentaion in its fullest.

So....can it be done in such a manner that the end
resulting DVD will be of such quality that depicts the PP
presentation to its fullest????

One last question: Are there any companies (or
individuals)out there that will do the conversion for
you? This might be the way to go in that if the DVD does
not come out correctly one will nothave to pay for the
service. If it works...then it would probably be cheaper
than buying the software and having to learn to do it
yourself.

Sorry for the long post but I want to know
the "Bottomline" on this PP to DVD conversion question.

As alwyas....thanks!!!

If you're talking about a DVD that plays back on a normal TV, then no, it's not
possible. TV is a much lower quality medium than the average computer monitor.

that you just created in PPT 2003? -

Hello,

If it is important to you (or to anyone else reading this message) that
PowerPoint have the ability save presentations directly to DVD-Video (even
with unavoidable loss of some interactivity capabilities), or if there are
specific features of PowerPoint slide show distribution that you would like
to see (which might eliminate the need to save presentations as DVD-Video),
don't forget to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft
at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft.

* Is there some problem with PowerPoint's current output options for which
you believe DVD-Video output is the solution/workaround?
* You want to distribute/show your presentation on DVD-Players (even though
there will be loss of functionality) because....<why>?
* Other reasons?

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).

You can try PowerPoint2DVD from http://www.powerpoint-to-dvd.com. It
should be what you are looking for. It's a very simple tool to burn
your Microsoft PowerPoint presentation on DVD.
