My laptop screen looks strange; on the screensaver there are thin streaks in the image where its just blank with a red or blue glare.

I know my description is probably useless, but I don't know how better to describe it.

Laptop is a Sony Vaio

Heya, does this happen at any other point or just on the screensaver? Any software/hardware installed recently? What Operating system is it running? Cheers.

Are all other displays ok?

If they are, disable the screen-saver, you don't need one on a laptops's lcd screen.

Hi ya,

It's not just the screensaver it's on the screen permanently.

Using Vista, no software installed recently.

I've never seen anything like it before, it's like there are random areas where the screen isn't displaying properly. It just shows a glare instead like it's solarized.

Then I'm afraid it sounds as if your laptop display is faulty.

If you could connect an external monitor and observe the display is ok, then the laptop screen will be at fault.

It's a common fault with laptops.
