Lost a hard drive during the install of a new drive. At somepoint WinXP on the original drive became corrupted and would not boot. Tried to troubleshoot and recover but to no avail. Reinstalled WinXP on the new drive. I can access the original drive as well as the various user folders except one which tells me that Access is denied. I can do without everything on the original drive but this folder has all of my music and digital photos

Any suggestions on how to access this folder

Try right clicking on the folder, get security properties and take ownership
of the folder.. If you enabled NTFS file encryption however, then you are
out of luck...

If you have XP Home you have to boot in safe mode to access the security
tab.
