I have a document that has two macros within it. Each macro is called by a
push button on a toolbar. This document is used by many people. How do I
modify the document so that when a user gets the doucment, the two
pushbuttons automatically appear on the users toolbar?

Right now I have to walk users through customizing their toolbar. Is this
done via a template?

Thanks in advance for your help?

Did you realize that you can create and save a toolbar IN the actual document
(assuming you have Word 97 or later)? Use Tools/Customize/Toolbars. Make sure
you choose your document from the dropdown list so that the toolbar will be
created and saved in the document.

And, I believe, the same thing applies to modifications to a built-in
toolbar, although I prefer custom toolbars because they are more portable.
That is, if you make sure that the changes are saved in your document,
rather than in your normal.dot, they will travel with the document. See
http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step instructions
on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations including
AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros, etc.

To get back to the subject question, unless this is a single document being
edited and changed over time, rather than a pattern for documents to be
produced, I would be using a template. For more on the different kinds of
templates, tabs on the file new dialog, and locations of templates folders
see http://addbalance.com/usersguide/templates.htm.
