Have you checked Yahoo! help for mail problems? Using Yahoo with Outlook

Since you have not provided what version of Microsoft Outlook you have, I will assume that you are using
either Microsoft Outlook 2002 (XP) or Microsoft Outlook 2003.

Yahoo! Mail (free accounts):
As it is explained in Yahoo! Mail help, you MUST be subscribed to the Yahoo! Mail Plus premium service to send
and receive email through Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Outlook Express (via POP/SMTP).

Unless you're in the UK! <VBG>

That is only true for North American Yahoo! servers; that I know of. I am
able to use smtp.mail.yahoo.co.jp, anyway.

Do you really have to be in the UK to use smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk? I can use
a free Yahoo! SMTP server without residing in the country it serves.

You can see some interesting stuff this way.

Please don't get angry about this post. It's nothing personal...

Don't forget that there are countless millions of Outlook 2000 and
Outlook Express users out in CyberWorld. Microsoft hasn't made
a strong enough case to cause us to fork over $100+. Outlook
2000 SP3 and Outlook Express 2000 SP3 works fine for me.
I've received email from people using Outlook 2003 and It was
so garbled that I couldn't read it.

I have upgraded to Word 2003 and FrontPage 2003,so I'm not
against upgrading. I object to losing control over rules making,
and having to jump through hoops to send email to folks who
do not share my love of Outlook.
