Do WordArt Styles have names?

I recently had to document in detail the steps I followed to create a
set of unique WordArt graphics. I thought it odd that I could not
find a straight-forward way of stating which style I selected. I
ended up using C1R1, C2R1 and so on, to identify them by column/row
location within the gallery. Is there a naming scheme for the styles
that is in general use?

Not exactly, other than the names you see in the screen tips which is what
most use.

I'm using Word 2003 and have not noticed any screen tips anywhere in
the Styles Gallery dialog box. Is that something that has been added
in Word 2007?

Yes, it looks like the screen tips were added in Word 2007.

I can confirm that here. Sometimes ScreenTips are slow to appear, but I
waited a reasonable (even unreasonable) amount of time with no result.

Hi Mike,

Even in Word 2007 the 'style names' aren't much to go on :)
The gallery is the same as the one in Word 2003 (only change is that the dialog's grey divider lines between gallery samples are now
just white space). In both versions the default gallery has 6 items across each row and five rows. The 'style names' from Top left
across each row are simply
'WordArt style 1' through 'WordArt style 30' :)

In Word 2003 or 2007 macros 'style 15' is 'msoTextEffect15'
