I've had trouble getting one of my drives to accept the SP2 upgrade (it was
small anyway) so I bought another and attempted an install, no luck - some of
the files won't install. I'm wondering if I've exceeded some kind of install
limit, since I've also been trying to unscrew the SP2 install by reformatting
and reinstalling. I've upgraded my PC with a new motherboard, and have tried
to install XP on different drives, no luck, there are some files that won't
install, then I get locked into a continual reboot after install. I thought
that the EULA allowed installation on several hard drives, so long as they
are used on the same PC? I built my PC with swapable hard drive bays so I
could keep my data and drives safe from my kids.
What do you think is happening? Is the XP install disk toast, or is
something else going on? Any solutions?
