using OE 6 SP1 as newsreader for Outlook 2002 with Word as mail editor.

Use OE-Quotefix for Outlook Express and Outlook-Quotefix for Outlook.

I don't speak for Smiths, and Smiths doesn't speak for me.

Do you open a separate instance of OE for news or do you open the *Outlook*
Newsreader via OL View>Go to>News?

(Is this déja vu all over again?)

it's not deja vu - I've done a re-format and install since then!

Trouble is, I use both methods of opening Outlook Newsreader!

You need both OE-Quotefix and Outlook-Quotefix. OE-QF will control news
replies while Outlook-QF will control email replies.
