I am upgrading from WN98 to XP, do what do I do first, upgrade my hard ware
that the advisor said needed upgrading ie;rockwell moden and hp 992c printer
and Ms office 2000, or do i do the Xp then the other upgrades?
Please help I am lost here. Thank you so very much.
Sincerely, Gail

If the hardware you currently run Win98 on is sufficiently powerfull
(harddiskspace, processor speed and amount of memory) to support XP, then
upgrade to XP first.
Then do the other upgrades of software, drivers, etc.

You check with the hardware manufacturer for XP compatible drivers and
download them. If there are no XP drivers use Win2K drivers, if available.

You then install/upgrade to XP and then install the drivers once XP setup
completes.

Make sure the UpgradeAdvisor did not list motherboard controller drivers as
needing upgrade 'cause you'll need to have them on a floppy, ready to be
installed during the XP setup.
