Do functions work on filtered data in Excel?

I filtered out rows in an Excel sheet and now want to calculate the average
of the filtered numbers. The function still calculates ALL rows, not only
the filtered ones.
 
Looking up SubTotal() in the Help files will answer your question.
Ever use the Help files?
